As the session opened, the party had just survived a brief encounter with the minotaur, Tunrahg the Cruel. Recovering from the encounter, the party chose to return to the Sacred Chalice tavern for food and drinks and conversation.
Upon arrival at the Sacred Chalice the party was treated to a rare musical treat as Freya sang along to a song by a bardic troupe she hadn't heard since leaving the village where she grew up.
Finding a table and ordering the drinks, the newly forming party began the long process of getting to know each other.
Val Gravewalker seems to be hunting something and Tunrahg, might very well be that target.
Arius' friend was captured and taken hostage by Tunrahg, so he is fully invested in tracking down what happed to his friends.
Ambellina shared very little about why she is in town, but it seemed to revolve around animals of some kind.
Greer, newly returned from the dead, is definitely hunting Tunrahg and seems to be entirely consumed by that mission.
Freya, bearer of the Sword of Danu, is on a mission to discover what it means to be a paladin of the Order of the Waelkyrie (Valkyrie). And the sword might be leading her towards that very fate.
Gray chose not to disclose their mission, but agreed to join the party anyways.
Saoirse is on a mission to discover how so many people are getting into Tir na nOg and why they are coming there. But now she desired to find out what happened to Greer.
After the conversation, the group began investigating a series of paintings and portraits hung up around the tavern. They learned about the tavern owner's family and bits of lore about the city of Cragminster.
They also found two large paintings which been recently delivered by an envoy from the Crescent Moon Castle. A picture of a very large golden dragon, which they learned was named Frisayna, the Endless One; and a picture of a young golden haired woman, which they learned is the Empress of the Bregalla Empire, Teffania Aphra. With closer inspection of the two paintings, Freya discovered something in them that was too similar to ignore. In the picture of Frisayna, the Endless One, atop a rocky outcropping there can be seen a number of stone seats and in the center of them is a large glowing emerald. In the picture of Empress Teffania Aphra, a large glowing emerald could be seen hanging from a golden necklace around her neck.
While the party was gathered around the paintings, a man in dark leathers and a hawk caught the attention of Gray. Gray was only in Cragminster to collect a debt, but for reasons they could not put their finger on, the man and bird felt like they might be associated with that debt.
As conversations continued, the party eventually decided to make their way to the Castle to meet with a contact. Along the way, Ambellina caught the scent of of contracted target and took up chase, leading toward the base of the cliff below the Crescent Moon Castle.
