KAKOS (Cacus) was a monstrous, fire-breathing giant who dwelt in a cave on the Aventine Hill in Latium--later the site of Rome. He was slain by Herakles as the hero was on his way back to Greece after fetching the cattle of Geryon from Erytheia (Spain).
