Biography

Saoirse is a satyr Cleric of Danu who grew up in a healers’ temple in Tír na nÓg among the fae folk. She grew up among a family of clerics and druids who work to take care of the fae realm and its people. She met some of the other party members there, including Greer who she was friends with growing up until an accident changed the course of their lives.

Recently, she and a few fellow clerics were tasked with helping to find out why so many non-fae are finding their way into the fae realms lately. They left Tír na nÓg and spread out in four directions to start looking for clues. Saoirse finds the human world strange yet captivating, and the new things she is introduced to regularly distract her from her mission frequently. She has not heard from her companions in weeks, and has made very little progress herself.

She was resting in a tavern in the city of Cragminster and considering finding the local Temple of Danu when the events of Session Zero began.

Amy Flowers is a research scientist who spends her daytime hours solving the latest problems in women’s reproductive health. She received her Ph.D. in 2019 from the University of California – Davis and has had a passion for reproductive physiology, education, and research for many years. She enjoys spending time with her wife Sarah and their two gray tabby cats, Hershey and Aragorn. She also enjoys reading, seeing new movies, and playing video games. She is working on a science fiction novel in her spare time in addition to helping Sarah with RPG Storytelling projects.

Amy loves a good balance of roleplay and combat in her RPG games, both as a player and a DM. She does her best to add fun voices and accents to her characters, even if she isn’t always the best at them. She loves becoming her characters and portraying emotional situations with her fellow players. She enjoys playing many different types of characters, as long as they have a good backstory, and is always willing to fill in a needed part of the group like a healer or tank.

Seelie Staff

Staff, rare (requires attunement by a good aligned Fae)

This staff is made of three pieces of green, brown, and white woods obtained from Shadyleaf the emerald willow, Resilience the mahogany, and Snowbark the white beech respectively. The woods are magically braided together and topped with a small carved figure of Danu that appears to be an extension of one of the woods. The apparent origin and color of the Danu figure changes with the state of the staff. The staff's state can be changed once a day (resets at dawn) by speaking each tree's name. This fae-made staff is also a Blessed Shillelagh; when the spell Shillelagh is cast on this staff, it adds an additional damage dies rather than increasing the die type.

In each state below, the staff is considered magical and has 3 charges to expend on the listed spells. Regardless of state, the staff regains 1d3 charges each day at dawn.

  • Shadyleaf (green Danu): Shadylead can cast Leomund's Tiny Hut (3 charges), Alarm (1 charge), or Sanctuary (1 charge).

  • Resilience (brown Danu): Resilience gains +1 to attack and damage rolls. Resilience can also cast Inflict Wounds at 1st level (1 charge), Silvery Barbs (1 charge), or Zephyr Strike (1 charge). Inflict Wounds can also be upcast at 1 additional charge per each additional spell level.

  • Snowbark (white Danu): Snowbark can cast Aid at 2nd level (2 charges), Bless at 1st level (1 charge), or Create Food and Water (3 charges). Aid and Blss can also be upcast at 1 additional charge per each additional spell level.

As the attuned owner of the Seelie Staff grows in their abilities, the Seelie Staff grows with them and gains the following new benefits:

  • at levels 4, 8, 12, 16, and 20, the charge pool for each state of the staff increases by 1 (to a final total of 8 charges).

  • at levels 6, 12, and 18, the number of times per day that the staff's state can be changed increases by 1 (to a final total of 4).

  • at level 10 the bonus to attack and damage for Resilience becomes a +2.

  • at level 12 the staff learns the following new spells:

    • Shadyleaf: Druid Grove (6 charges) and Faithful Hound (4 charges)

    • Resilience: Hypnotic Pattern (3 charges)

    • Snowbark: Aura of Vitality (3 charges) and Skill Empowerment (5 charges)

All spells cast through the Seelie Staff require their normal material components if applicable.
